The new CNN

To be honest I rarely use the internet and if I use it is to check my e-mail or to submit assignments on blackboard, I read the news either on the USA today or The New York Times, but I don’t read the news on the internet. So, when on this assignment I was asked to check the new CNN and read the article about the new changes made on the website, or in other words to compare apples to apples I can’t tell the difference, because to me pretty much it seems the same apple, except for one big difference that sets apart the information found in the printed world versus the digital: infotaiment.
Television, cable, movies, internet is a big circus where all kinds of valuable and useless information is mixed with reality shows, magicians, soap operas, cartoons, violence and all kinds of useless garbage, reading in printed form like books, journals, magazines etc. is on serious decline on this country. It was believed that with the advent of the internet, people will be more informed with the abundance of information but it turn out not to be the case. The movie The Network explained this phenomenon and it is as accurate today as it was back in 1976 when the movie was made, check this link to see what I’m talking about:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTN3s2iVKKI
