SEO/Social networking

After researching SEO and taking a look at what may optimize search results for your site, I found that the best results are not only in the keywords you use in your page title, but also the positioning of keywords in the 1st paragraph of the body text. Editing the content of your page and the html is also influential to search engine results. One other idea that I found which I didnt know existed was the use of consultants and consulting agencies. They have the expertise to get your site ranked for terms that matter in your pages industry/areas of interest. Linking your site from others sites also can drive traffic to your own site. Here is a site that I found that lists a few tips:

SEO and social networking sites work best when you use content in your page relevant to social networking sites, myspace, facebook, etc. Building relationships between your page and social networking sites . Using social networking sites in you SEO efforts requires you to find out what sites are most appropriate for you to frequent. It is useful to become familiar with the culture of the sites, including what kind of content people publish, what’s popular, and how people interact with each other. A site I came upon that has tips for business entrepreneurs is here:

  1. Social bookmarking and networking has become a huge extension of everyone's presence on the internet. I think this is the forefront for most people being on the web. Certainly your website needs to be relevant with your social site information. I also feel that only people with really useful sites to share or promote should spend a lot of time creating a network of users.

One of the sites that I found about SEO mentioned how using images with text in them does no help search engines since they can't read the image. The article you posted empgasizes multiple ways of using text. Text with keywords in it should definitely come first before trying to enhace a site with graphics.

  2. The idea of linking your site to another site is a great, easy optimization tool. It requires little effort on behalf of the developer but can do wonders for SEO.

Furthermore, I hadn't even considered "building a relationship" between my own page and social networking sites.... it's a nifty concept I'll have to do more research on.

  3. I like the idea of linking your website from others sites. I think by this way, more traffic your site is going to receive. also, I believe that using social networking is another example of linking your site to others.

I like the fact that the 1st paragraph of the body can help you in the search results. in this way, not only the title of the site is important but also the content of the first body as well.

  4. I like how you mentioned that there are consultant agencies. SEO has gotten so important that people have created companies whose sole purpose is to help the SEO of other websites.
I mentioned the idea of promoting your websites through your social networks such as your facebook page in my posting also. Its such a simple idea that could really spread the word if you have enough friends.

  5. Good suggestions about hiring consultants or consulting agencies. As this could become pricy it also could be very profitable in the long run.

Also, good ideas about your wording for browsing. And you are right that searches don't typically bring up images...unless you use role over text with your images so that you have the descriptive words in your coding. :)
