BingBook? GoogleTweet? More huge partnerships please.

Ultimately, I feel that this new deal with Microsoft will effect the market share of Google.com. Though I do not completely think it will turn the tides of the war between the two search engines, it is definitely a temporary advantage because it literally will be offering something that Google does not. My question is how long will this give them an advantage because Google's potential partnership with Twitter seems far more threatening than that of Microsoft and Facebook. Google's ingenuity and Twitter's success from originality (being the first of its kind) both give me a hunch that based on their histories, they will accumulate to something far greater than Microsoft. As mentioned, Microsoft will only have a temporary advantage in the market share because of this.

This will surely have a huge impact on the success and growth of both Facebook and Twitter because now, the insurmountable number of status updates recorded daily will be fed directly to the most commonly used and operated search engines on the web. And remember, that Google.com is perhaps one of the more common homepage choices for any average user. With that said, it will become imperetive that websites seeking high traffic and user visitation, implement some type of Twitter or Facebook status application within their site. This not only will increase the chance of their website showing up for a search, but it will give each website more authenticity as users can now see that that website is associated with the most popular networking mediums available on the web.

  1. I agree, however until Google can pen a deal to counter Bing's deal, Bing may receive some of Googles market share. I also agree that Twitters potential deal with Google will once again return Google to their throne as search engine king. Regardless of Twitters deal with Google, I think that Google is innovative enough to create some other new feature that will also restore their dominance.
