The advancment of Web Design
Will monitors grow? Maybe! If this is true, then why not make websites bigger. Personally I think the sky is the limit with technology. One question I would ask is. How will this affect mobile devices like mobile phones etc,?Would it cause any viewing problems? But I really don't see why it would change very much. Everyday people that have to deal and work with this might not like managing such a huge website, let alone having to navigate it. Is there really a need for bigger websites? They are already big enough. Like today I was using an old computer with a small monitor. It drove me crazy, having to scroll 30 light years over. I don't think there is a need for bigger websites. Everyday a new technology is born or enhanced. So my outlook is always remain educated about what's going on with the newest and up to date technological advances. What people see and what they might want in a website is most important. Of course you always want the website easy to navigate for those that are not technologically savvy.

I agree with you that issues could arise if sites were to grow as there is a quickly growing market for mobile internet devices. But as I would have posted if I had remembered to do it, my guess is that over time a new navigation system will be developed that allows mobile devices to quickly jump around large pages with single button clicks. Think of it as quadrants. You might click one button to jump to the top right of the page, or another button to jump to the bottom right, or middle left, etc.
ReplyDeleteI agree to the fact that if monitors grow websites should grow too. However websites should be resizable in such a way that even people with older and smaller montiors and even laptops wont have to scroll left right, top bottom all the time just to see every information.
ReplyDeleteI agree. If I use a dinosaur computer, it is so frustrating and annoying when you have to scroll everywhere and lose site of what you were intiatlly looking for to begin with. I don't think sites need to grow to accommodate bigger screens, the screens need to be able to work with all sorts of website sizes.
