Future is a mystery. However, for those people who are willing to analyze past, obtain knowledge, observe current trends, dream, and invent this is not the case. As Arthur C. Clark, English physicist & science fiction author, puts it: "The best way to predict the future is to invent it."
But whatever the future brings, only those individuals and businesses that can anticipate change and quickly adopt to it will be successful.
Web is relatively young and, despite its rapid evolution, it is still very immature. It has lots of problems and imperfections ranging anywhere from browser incompatibility and lack of universal standards to simply ugly and unfunctional designs. These problems should disappear over time as Web further evolves and refines itself.
With advances in technologies, the content of web sites is constantly growing since users want more and more information available in various formats for their disposal. As for the sizes of Web sites, they should follow the trends and accommodate both: mobile devices and big screen monitors. A web site could be created for a big screen monitor but at the same time it could have a mobile version like Google.com does to make everyone happy.
Web sites are the products of their environment. They will continue to grow and evolve and with them web design will continue to reinvent itself.
I agree. No one knows what the future holds. Our predictions may turn out to be all wrong and some things may surprise us. We'll just have to wait and see!
