The Future of the Webpage

The future is unsure, yes but that doesn't mean reliable predictions can't be made. The world wide web is an ever-expanding, ever-changing system. It is an extremely technological advancement and the webpages that it offers will never stay the same. However, I would like to argue that the overall content and set up of a good web page will however, remain the same. I beleive that all good websites should have simple access, spacable content, and easy navigation. In doing so, this type of web page will have user friendly environment. Websites may increase in size in the near future but that does not mean in any way that a websites page of content will as well. I think the basic layout of a web page will remain basically the same no matter what happens in the future and web page size.

  1. I agree that the world wide web is an ever-expanding and ever-changing system. The things we are able to do today are way beyond what people thought was possible 12 years ago. Therefore if we are increasing the technology used to produce the content on websites, why not increase the size if larger higher quality monitors are becoming main steam.

  2. I disagree that we are going to have to stick to the current basic layout of webpages; I think this is a default that while effective has some serious limitations, and is likely to be questioned sooner rather than later by critical web designers interested in reshaping our relationship to the web environment. It's always hard to imagine an alternative to convention until it happens.
