Hi, I was talking with Jeff about this issues and he mentioned that they are some websites out there that "know" if you are using a device with a small screen (PDA's, cell phones) or a big screen and accordingly adjust the content that is displayed. What is the name of this process or technology? I don't know.
This can be a little inconvenient, but if I designed a website, on the main page I will ask users if they are using a small device (PDA's, cell phone) or a PC, then ask them to click in a link and route them to the content that will fit on the screen of their device.
I conclude that bigger is better for big screens, but small fits better for PDA's or cell phones.

  1. That would be a good idea to send users to appropriate sites to fit their scrren size, then it wouldn't matter how big or small your website is. It just needs to be formatted to accommodate all of the different size screens and thats where the designer of the webpage would spend a lot a of time fixing/updating. And what if they do not look the same, obviously you can fit more on a bigger screen, so if someone only visisted your site on a pda, they would never see the full content available, which could be a bad thing.
